The 9th International Istanbul Poetry and Literature Festival is running from September 28 to October 2 this year at locations across the city, from libraries to hotels to ferries. International writers including Jason Goodwin, famous for his best-selling Ottoman detective novel The Janissary Tree, European Literature Prize winner Drago Jacal, Australian poet Philip Hammial, and French philosopher Eric Sadin will be giving talks and readings. The festival opening is taking place at the legendary Pera Palace Hotel at 7.30pm on September 28, with music from a local Georgian choir.
